Fulham's £100m Craven Cottage redevelopment will require them to play in front of only three stands for the next two seasons as plans begin ahead of the next term, regardless of their perilous league position.
The ambitious project at Craven Cottage means the Riverside Stand will undergo construction for two seasons as the club start work to increase capacity from just over 25,000 to 30,000.
However, by temporarily removing the Riverside Stand, the maximum attendance will drop to 20,000 as development goes ahead.
The major issue surrounding the decision is the outcome of supporters who regularly occupy the seats in the Riverside Stand.
Fulham say they 'will be consulting with the Fulham Supporters' Trust in regards to relocating supporters currently situated in the existing Riverside Stand'.
Regardless of the Cottagers position in the table come the end of the season (they are currently bottom on 9 points), work is set to begin next summer.

Aside from a capacity increase, Fulham are hoping to establish new restaurants, cafes and bars as well as the creation of a new public riverside walk.
However, the club's fortunes on the pitch haven't quite lived up to expectations so far this season. The recent appointment of Claudio Ranieri, following Slavisa Jokanovic's sacking, is a signal of the west London club's intention of remaining in the division, but whether it is successful remains to be seen.
40 - Fulham have now conceded 40 goals in their opening 16 Premier League games this season; only Barnsley in 1997-98 (43) have conceded more at this stage of a top-flight campaign since the start of the 1965-66 season. Leaky.
