Fulham 2-0 West Brom: Player Ratings as Cottagers Pick Up Deserved Home Win

Fulham recorded their first victory since promotion back to the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win over West Brom at Craven Cottage on Monday evening.

After a relatively even opening to the game the home side took control shortly before the half hour mark.

Firstly Aleksandar Mitrovic selflessly headed back across goal allowing Bobby Decordova-Reid the chance to nod the Cottagers ahead, before Ola Aina drilled a thunderous left-footed effort into the top corner to double Scott Parker's side's lead.

West Brom showed plenty of urgency in the second half but they were unable to produce any real quality in the final third as Fulham notched a potentially vital three points.

That's the key events of the game out of the way, now to the player ratings.

Fulham

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Alphonse Areola (GK) - 6/10 - Given very little to do by the West Brom frontline. Showed good distribution and solid handling whenever he was called upon.

Ola Aina (RB) - 7/10 - Superb strike from the edge of the area to double Fulham's lead on the evening. Looked solid at the back and showed plenty of energy down the Fulham right.

Tosin Adarabioyo (CB) - 7/10 - A colossus whenever West Brom hoisted balls into the box. Steady on the ball and showed fantastic positional awareness whenever he was needed.

Joachim Andersen (CB) - 7/10 - Very good display from the Denmark international. Never looked flustered by the threat posed by Karlan Grant or Callum Robinson and even came close to opening his account for the club.

Antonee Robinson (LB) - 8/10 - Lovely ball in for Mitrovic as Fulham picked apart the West Brom backline. Managed to stifle Grady Diangana all evening and was a threat whenever he ventured forward.

2. Midfielders

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (CM) - 6/10 - An all-action performance. Balanced the midfield nicely alongside Lemina and Cairney but careless in possession at times.

Mario Lemina (CM) - 7/10 - Industrious, workmanlike display but showed skill and ability whenever he was on the ball. Taken off at half-time (presumably through injury) but a big performance from a man who could be a huge asset if Parker can tap into his undoubted potential.

Tom Cairney (CM) - 7/10 - Smooth as silk in the Fulham midfield. Always looking to find pockets of space and was a threat whenever he managed to get on the ball. If Fulham are to make a decent fist of survival he'll be key to their efforts.

3. Forwards

Bobby Decordova-Reid (RW) - 5/10 - Took his goal nicely but offered very little else. Showed plenty of desire to get on the ball but struggled to make things happen with numerous stray deliveries and wayward efforts.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (ST) - 7/10 - Superb forward play to pick out Decordova-Reid for the Fulham opener. Didn't get the goal his performance deserved but put in an excellent shift for the team.

Ademola Lookman (LW) - 5/10 - Quiet evening for the former Everton man. Looked lively early on as he flashed an effort wide of Sam Johnstone's left-hand post, but failed to build on a promising start.

4. Substitutes

Harrison Reed (CM) - 6/10 - A workman like display in midfield and one that will remind Parker that he has a key role to play this season.

Ivan Cavaleiro (RW) - N/A

Joe Bryan (LB) - N/A

5. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Sam Johnstone (GK) - 6/10 - Little he could do about either of the Fulham goals and dealt with anything else the home side threw at him.

Darnell Furlong (RB) - 6/10 - Solid if not spectacular going forward but coped well with Ademola Lookman given the Fulham man's quick feet.

Branislav Ivanovic (CB) - 5/10 - Struggled up against the physicality of Mitrovic and was careless in possession on a couple of occasions.

Semi Ajayi (CB) - 6/10 - Perhaps lucky not to concede a penalty in the second half as he handballed Decordova-Reid's effort on the line, but a decent display otherwise.

Conor Townsend (LB) - 4/10 - Awful defending for the Fulham opener - body shape was all wrong and made no effort to even challenge Mitrovic as he laid it on a plate for Decordova-Reid.

6. Midfielders

Jake Livermore (DM) - 4/10 - Struggled to get a foothold in the game and was taken off with more than half an hour to play as Slaven Bilic attempted to add some more energy to midfield with Romaine Sawyers.

Conor Gallagher (CM) - 5/10 - Showed plenty of bite in the Baggies midfield but struggled to produce any real quality when it mattered. Clearly became frustrated as the game wore on and began to concede a number of needless fouls.

Filip Krovinovic (CM) - 5/10 - Started brightly and looked the most likely to produce a telling pass, but struggled to maintain his performance level and ended up just throwing himself about.

7. Forwards

Grady Diangana wrestles for possession | Pool/Getty Images

Matheus Pereira (RW) - 5/10 - Hooked before the hour mark after an evening to forget. Clearly pinpointed by Fulham as the dangerman and was stifled whenever he managed to get on the ball. More needed from him if West Brom are to have any chance of survival.

Karlan Grant (ST) - 5/10 - Starved of service but failed to work Alphonse Areola when the chance arrived in the first-half. Didn't really look any more menacing when he was given a strike partner.

Grady Diangana (LW) - 5/10 - Offered very little going forward though didn't neglect his defensive duties. A disappointing evening from another player West Brom need a lot more from.

8. Substitutes

Callum Robinson (ST) - 6/10

Romaine Sawyers (CM) - 5/10

Matt Phillips (RW) - 5/10
