Apparently talks were held between Benefica and Fulham on Friday and the deal is said to be worth £2 million.

The player, who is an Algeria international, played imprssively during the World Cup, noteably when Algeria faced England and the defence helped to prevent England from scoring and kept the score at 0-0.

Due to his great performance in South Africa, he has been linked to many English clubs this summer including Arsenal and West Ham.

The latest is that Fulham have agreed a fee with the Portuguese club and that Halliche is expected to fly to London today for a medical. He will recieve a visa from the Algerian Embassy upon arrival.
