PFA Vertu Motors Championship Fans' Player of the Month - January nominees

90min is the home of the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month Award for the 2021/22 & 2022/23 seasons.

Each month, you can vote for your favourite players across five divisions of English football, for the chance to win incredible prizes, including the opportunity to present the award to the winning player.

Your Championship nominees for January are...


1. Harry Wilson (Fulham)

Harry Wilson is becoming one of the major forces behind Fulham's promotion charge.

Fulham scored 20 goals in January alone as they went the month undefeated and Wilson was involved in a quarter of them.

The Welsh star took centre stage in the 7-0 win at Reading with two goals and two assists.

He also claimed an assist in the 6-2 success against Bristol City.


2. Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham)

Already a two-time winner of the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month Award, 'Mitro' is just impossible to ignore.

Fulham's Serbian superstar grabbed two goals and an assist in the 7-0 romp over Reading, and he followed that up with a hat-trick and an assist in the 6-2 triumph over Bristol City.

He completed the month with just the one goal in the 1-1 draw with Blackpool - the only match the Cottagers did not win in January.


3. Tom Lawrence (Derby County)

Derby County skipper Tom Lawrence led by example in January.

Lawrence inspired the win 2-0 over Sheffield United with both goals for the Rams.

The midfielder also scored in the 2-1 loss at rivals Nottingham Forest and grabbed an assist in their draw with Birmingham.


4. Darragh Lenihan (Blackburn Rovers)

Blackburn enjoyed an excellent January as they pushed themselves firmly into promotion contention and Darragh Lenihan was a key performer.

In their five games they conceded a goal in just one of them - the 2-0 loss at Hull.

Away from that, Lenihan helped Rovers to clean sheets against Cardiff, Middlesbrough, Huddersfield and Luton.


5. Emil Riis Jakobsen (Preston North End)

Preston's Danish star Emil Riis Jakobsen was one of the form strikers in the Championship in January.

North End lost just one of their six games, with Jakobsen's claiming four goals.

Jakobsen claimed a crucial brace in the 2-2 draw with Bristol City, while also scoring at Sheffield United - where it also ended 2-2.

The highlight was his fine strike in the 2-0 win at West Bromwich Albion.


6. Chris Willock (Queens Park Rangers)

Queens Park Rangers are refusing to give up on their promotion dream and Chris Willock was central to their efforts in January as they went undefeated.

Nobody in the Championship created more goals than former Arsenal youngster.

He assisted the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win at West Brom and followed that up by laying on both goals in the 2-1 win over Coventry.

Having also scored in the win over Birmingham he finished January by creating two goals in the 4-0 thrashing of Reading.
