Sheffield United 1-1 Fulham: Player Ratings as Wasteful Blades Forced to Share Points

Sheffield United and Fulham both picked up their first point of the season on Sunday as the two sides played out an underwhelming 1-1 draw.

The first half belonged to Sheffield United, who created countless chances and should have taken the lead. They thought they had just before half time as Tosin Adarabioyo fired into his own net, only for the goal to be correctly ruled out for offside.

Against the run of play, Fulham were awarded a penalty early in the second half after Jack Robinson was deemed to have handled the ball, but Aleksandar Mitrović's nightmarish day got even worse as he sent his effort flying over the bar.

Scott Parker's side grew into the game and finally made a breakthrough through Ademola Lookman, who darted through the defence and fired a powerful effort past Aaron Ramsdale after 77 minutes. However, Mitrović was again at fault as he gave away an 84th-minute penalty which Billy Sharp fired home with composure to earn his side a point.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Aaron Ramsdale (GK) - 6/10 - Had nothing particularly tough to do but was pretty powerless to stop Lookman's effort.

Chris Basham (CB) - 7/10 - Fulham couldn't deal with his overlapping runs. Got into space time and time again and delivered plenty of dangerous crosses.

John Egan (CB) - 7/10 - Looked solid at the back and tormented Mitrović all afternoon.

Enda Stevens (CB) - 7/10 - Moved back out to the left after Lowe's injury, allowing him to make the most out of his crosses.

2. Midfielders

George Baldock (RM) - 6/10 - Will be frustrated not to have offered more in attack, but helped keep the Blades flowing with some good energy.

John Lundstram (CM) - 7/10 - Looked like he was in a training session in the first half, waltzing around and pulling the strings with terrifying ease. Impact faded after the break.

Sander Berge (CM) - 8/10 - What a player. Was absolutely everywhere all game long, but could mainly be found bursting down the right to create a handful of top chances.

Oliver Norwood (CM) - 7/10 - Looked composed on his return to the team, keeping his side pushing forward. Wilder will have been impressed.

Max Lowe (LM) - N/A - Was knocked silly in a collision with Loftus-Cheek after just two minutes, and despite trying to carry on, left the field after 18.

3. Forwards

Oli McBurnie (ST) - 5/10 - Showed outstanding movement to get into some brilliant positions but wasted each and every one of them.

David McGoldrick (ST) - 6/10 - Helped keep Sheffield United ticking with his movement but offered very little in front of goal before being hauled off for Brewster.

5. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Adarabioyo looked good on his debut | James Williamson - AMA/Getty Images

Alphonse Areola (GK) - 7/10 - Managed a couple of impressive saves but benefited from Sheffield United's sloppy finishing. Helpless with the penalty.

Ola Aina (RB) - 5/10 - Flew around with plenty of energy and positive intent but lacked the quality to really make the most of that.

Tosin Adarabioyo (CB) - 7/10 - Was comfortable on the ball and was never afraid to step out of defence to recover possession. Will be happy with his performance on his debut.

Tim Ream (CB) - 5/10 - Powerful in the air but was completely overwhelmed on the ground as Fulham were picked apart at the back in the first half.

Antonee Robinson (LB) - 5/10 - Left exposed by Sheffield United's attacks down the right, but at least offered a decent threat in attack. Never stopped running.

6. Midfielders

Tom Cairney (CM) - 5/10 - Started off pulling the strings but was one of many Fulham players to fall off after the first 15 minutes.

André-Frank Zambo Anguissa (CM) - 7/10 - One of Fulham's top performers. Charged around the field recovering possession and was regularly the driving force behind Fulham's forays forwards.

Ivan Cavaleiro (RM) - 3/10 - An awful day for Cavaleiro. Gave up possession time and time again and contributed to the breakdown of far too many moves.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (AM) - 6/10 - Was bright going forward and looked physically back to his best, although he'll be disappointed with his end product.

Ademola Lookman (LM) - 8/10 - Was a real threat down the left, and after being let down by his teammates, took it upon himself to score a stunning solo goal.

7. Forward

Mitrovic endured a day to forget | Pool/Getty Images

Aleksandar Mitrović (ST) - 1/10 - A bystander throughout the game. Was far too isolated in attack and couldn't make any long balls stick. Sent his penalty thundering over the bar and foolishly gave away a costly penalty of his own.

8. Substitutes

Mario Lemina - N/A
