Wigan beat Fulham, West Ham, Blades and Black Cats to ace?

Iceland international hitman Heidur Helguson is set join Wigan from Watford for a fee of around £1m.

Both Sunderland and Sheffield United offered more, but the two Coca Cola clubs reportedly did not offer to pay the Hornets the full amount up front.
