The game, watched by almost 7,000 fans at the revamped Cottage, was officially abandoned at half time and the second period played as an exhibition game.

Both sides had used their six permitted subs in the first forty-five minutes and the game was officially abandoned at half-time.

Referee Peter Walton didn't appear for the 'second period' with a linesman refereeing and Fulham's kit-man, Alan Bevan, running the line.

By the end of the match, which finished goalless, both sides had used a total of 40 substitutes.
