Craig Hutchinson, Legwinski's agent, revealed to Sky Sports: "I've not had any discussions with Birmingham recently, but I suppose they are obliged to contact the club first.”

"When I spoke to Birmingham last summer, they were keen.

“They liked the player a lot, but were concerned about a lack of games.

"So there may be some truth in the speculation as in the summer they said they liked the player.

"He's not the type to sit tight and pick up his wages.

"He's certainly not a money-grabbing mercenary. He just needs to be playing regularly at his age. He's got 18 months on his contract.

“But, if others are preferred to him [he may need to leave]. He just needs to fight for his position in a sporting sense.

"There's four other Premiership clubs who are looking at him. Also, Norwich definitely made an enquiry and Leeds have been interested."
