The young Fulham striker, younger brother of Charlton's Marcus Bent, will play in two reserve team games for Rovers this week.
"We are looking at players for next season and Elliott obviously comes into that category," Rovers assistant boss Richard O'Kelly told the Sheffield Star.
"Sean (0'Driscoll) and I have watched him over the last couple of years and he has caught the eye and we had a good report on him last week at the exit trials so we thought that we would bring him in for a couple of days' training."
