Coleman delighted to take a point

Fulham could have been dead-and-buried had United been a bit more frutuitous in front of goal during a first half in which they managed to find the back of the net just once but strike the woodwork twice.

The Cottagers were a different proposition after the break however and Papa Diop's late equaliser earned them a share of the spoils against a Reds side that Fulham manager Coleman feels will not topple Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title this season.

"It was a fantastic strike by Papa that got us the three points in the end. For a big guy he has got a great technique," Coleman said after the 1-1 draw at The Cottage.

"But United look as though they are back on track for me. They will be pushing Arsenal and Chelsea close. I thought they were outstanding in the first half.

"It was a more determined display from us in the second half. We dug in and stuck in there. The first half maybe wasn't great but we kept fighting for each other.

"We were delighted to take a point even though they hit the post twice in the first and we could have been 3-0 down by half-time.

"Some of the football United played was fantastic. United were written off at the start of the season and that is incredible.

"I think Sir Alex is just building another team there. They have got some fantastic players. Sometimes you cannot get anywhere near them. So for us to get a point from such a quality team is all credit to my players.

"I just think it is Chelsea's year but United will push them all the way."
