Goals from Moritz Volz and Tomasz Radzinski earned them a 2-0 win over the Carling Cup semi-finalists, much to the delight of the Fulham boss.

"It's another game unbeaten, another clean sheet and that breeds confidence. I'm delighted, he said after the game at the Cottage on Wednesday night.

"I worked the defence harder yesterday than I normally would do in a pre-match training session and they put it into practice. It was an assured performance.

"It was always gong to be tricky for us but the lads coped very well and they deserve a pat on the back.

"It's been a good week. We've had Boa signing then a good result against West Brom, a good result today and hopefully Edwin van der Sar signing tomorrow. It's been a good start to the year.

"The FA Cup is a good chance for us to progress. And the more games you win the more confidence you get in the team. It's an important competition for us.

"I can't go and leave six or seven guys out, I wouldn't do that. I want to do well in the Cup. I won't be playing any under-strength teams.

"In future whoever is fit and as long as they are not on the edge of a suspension they we will play our strongest team."
