Coleman: Pitch Didn't Help

"I don't think it was a pretty game for both sides. It was always going to be tough because Bolton are where they are in the table on merit," the Fulham boss said after the 2-1 defeat.

"It didn't help that we were playing on a newly laid pitch. In terms of getting the ball down and passing it was difficult.

"Until Bolton scored the first goal it was a tight game. And while it was still 1-0 we were always in with a chance.

"That's why it was so disappointing to concede so early on in the second half.

"There are still a lot of league games to go and we want to see how high we can finish. We were 12th last year now we want to go on and better that."
