"We went into the game looking for a win after Villa had lost three games on the bounce.
"It was hardly a good game. We never sat back as it was always going to be a tough game.
"We have broken that sequence of away defeats and kept a blank sheet for the second successive match.
"It was important that we competed as a team and defensively we looked solid.
"Ian Pearce had another terrific game. Alongside Zat Knight he was impressive and it looks as if we now have a good platform to build on for the future."
