Coleman: We Have To Fight Like Dogs

Supporters aired their frustration too following the 3-1 defeat at Craven Cottage.

"I can't blame the supporters for their reaction because they are disappointed," Coleman said.

"They have not seen us win at home since Newcastle United in February.

"I asked them to turn out for us and they did but I didn't expect them to cheer us off after that performance.

"We are all gutted. All the players are dejected in the dressing room. I have never seen them look so down.

"The second goal killed us. You could feel the negativity coming off our players. When you are 2-0 down, things happen and then, after we had a penalty appeal turned down, six seconds later it is 3-0 to them. Job done.

"You can't feel sorry for yourself and neither can the players. The important thing is that we get out of danger and we have to do that as soon as possible.

"The players realise where we are they know we cannot come off the pitch with nothing.

"You have to be prepared for a dogfight and to fight like dogs. You don't go into a gun fight with a knife.

"When you go on a long run without a win, then you can see the nervousness in the players, but we cannot afford to feel sorry for ourselves.

"This club has to be in the Premiership next season and the players have to make sure we achieve that.

"I know they are nervous, it is not because they don't want to work hard, we need a lot of players to step forward and take charge."
