The Fulham defender is struggling with a hamstring injury and manager Chris Coleman has revealed that he will not be risked in the game at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
"We've lost Philippe Christanval who has a little nick is his hamstring," Coleman told the club's official website.
"We're told that if we risk him and he gets a tear, he'll miss half of the games remaining so he won't be involved.
"We won't play for two weeks after Villa so we will give him two weeks to get it right.
