Monaco striker Eidur Gudjohnsen is set to sign a season-long loan with Fulham after turning down Stoke City.

The 31-year old Iceland international is almost certain to land at Craven Cottage according to Mirror Football after snubbing the Potters who were confident of getting a deal done.

Last season, Gudjohnsen turned down a loan move to West Ham United at the last minute to join Tottenham, and it seems as though a similar situation has occurred here.

The Cottagers are willing to pay about 2m of the former Chelsea and Barcelona man's salary at Monaco which should see the French club agree to a loan deal.
