Hodgson Content With A Point

The goalless draw at The Cottage halted a four game winless run for Fulham and although the visitors did come closest to taking all three points when hitting the woodwork at least three times, Hodgson thought that a draw was the correct result.

"It was very, very important to get some sort of result from the game," the Fulham boss said after the match.

"We came up against a good Sunderland team and I think both teams actually have kicked on quite a lot from last year.

"I think that over the course of the 90 minutes the ebb and flow of the game meant that we were every bit as much in control as they were.

"Certainly they are going to be complaining after hitting the woodwork and having a goal disallowed for an infringement against the wall."
