Alex McLeish, the Birmingham manager, admitted yesterday that the Belgium striker had turned him down saying, 'Dembele has got other options and is choosing another one'.
Dembele has also been linked to West Ham, however it seems Hughes has acted fast and is expected to hold further talks with the striker in the next 24 hours.
