The Fulham keeper returned to action having sufferred a serious neck injury during the game against Watford on New Years Day.

"I have never been nervous on a football pitch but I was nervous," he said.

"I remember getting the injury against Watford on New Year's Day.

"I just landed on my neck and felt the pain on the right side - there was a little break which took about three or four weeks to heal.

"It could have been a lot worse and I consider myself lucky.

"I don't think it will affect my courage in the long term. It wasn't the first time I have landed awkwardly but it was just bad luck.

"It was worrying. When you hurt your neck you immediately test your toes and fingers.

"I was a bit scared because my right side was numb down the shoulder and neck. I knew there was something a little wrong but it was nothing too horrible anyway."
