"Steed Malbranque began complaining about a groin problem during the first few days of pre-season," he told the clubs official website.
"We've been very cautious about Steed's injury management.
"At this point, it is hard to predict when we expect to see him back in full training, but is very unlikely that he'll be available for the first couple of games of the season."
