"We had a gameplan, but it went out of the window after 10 minutes.

"We conceded in the first 10 minutes and it's always going to be difficult against a team who keep the ball for long periods.

"Rather than just get settled in, we went hunting for the ball and they just played round us. We had a 10 minute wobble and we conceded four goals, and the game's finished.

"It's disappointing. We prepared very thoroughly for this game, but within 10 minutes it's all over. Then it's a long afternoon so it was a big disappointment.

"I think the disappointing thing for us is we were competing against Man Utd on the day and we didn't compete.

"If we play like that on Wednesday against Bolton, which we know is going to be a ding-dong game, if we approach it in the same way, it will be another defeat.

"We've got to be ready for a war, a tough game, we will have to roll our sleeves up and get our heads up, and make sure we are at the races.

"They showed there today when they hit that form, you could be looking at the new champions.

"They were devastating at times and, to be fair to our lads, we couldn't get anywhere near them.

"We lost a bit of discipline and our shape, but when you concede so many goals in such a short space of time, your head tends to drop and we did that, that's understandable.

"On that type of form, United are going to beat anybody. We got a lesson today. If they keep that up, I don't see anybody to touch them in possession. Offensively they were absolutely devastating and we couldn't live with them."

I'm really pleased with the performance and the workrate of the players. The making and the taking of the goals was excellent.

"There was a real excitement about our play, particularly in the first 20 minutes. But throughout the match we played with great confidence and belief.

"Performances like today will go a long way [to helping us overcome Chelsea]. But more importantly the younger players are improving and maturing and the teamwork is getting better because of that.

"You can't expect to get the full package with players who are only 20 and 21 years of age. But you hope that their potential is fulfilled so you'll get performances
