"Lawrie [Sanchez] asked me to be Captain today and I was delighted," he told the club's official website.
"Obviously the Club has quite a few good leaders in the players that were here already and also the players Lawrie has brought into the squad . To be asked to Captain Fulham is a real honour.
"I think that things are going well right now and our fitness is at a high level.
"We're definitely moving forward in terms of everyone getting a good understanding of each others abilities and even more so in terms of what the Manager wants from us as players."
