Melville to stay

It had been thought that the Wales international would leave the Cottagers after turning down their original offer of a new contract because it involved a substantial pay cut.

"Melv is coming in next Tuesday to sign for another year which I'm delighted about," Fulham boss Chris Coleman told the club's official website.

"He's a real unsung hero in the team and we miss him when he's not there.

"He's such a professional and his experience and positional sense is second to none," added Coleman.

"I'm really chuffed we've agreed terms to keep him here."
