"There hasn't been an official bid from any club but all sorts of things have been thrown around in the papers and Carlo has chosen to say something as well, which is disappointing, but all we're trying to do is get on with it quietly and the minute we've got anything to say, it will come through the football club," Simpson has said.
"To this point there hasn't been anything official that we need to talk about.
"He spoke to me about it on Saturday but nothing has been spoken out since then. As far as I'm concerned we're all just getting on with it."
