John played on the right hand side of midfield in the recent 2-1 victory against Manchester City and said this: "The manager made his decision and I'll just play where I'm asked.
"It's not about where I or anyone else plays. It's about winning and we did that.
"I prefer playing as a striker but you have to respect the decisions of the coaches; and I do."
