The former Arsenal defender, snapped up on a free transfer in the summer, has been out of action after sustaining the injury a month into his time with the Cottagers. But he is now walking without the aid of crutches and is on schedule in terms of his rehabilitation.

No target date has been set for his return, but Senderos is pleased with his progress, saying: "The cast is off now and I'm walking without crutches again which feels great. The rehabilitation is going well and I'm on schedule, which is pleasing.

"I've had my share of injuries down the years but that has always been the way I have looked at it. You have to try and be positive.

"Of course it can be hard, especially for a new player because all you want to do is be part of things and to fit in. You have to do all you can to keep felling like you are part of the team.

"I know I will be back stronger than ever and I can't wait to run out there in the white shirt of Fulham."
