Tigana said: "The priority for us is to stay as high up in the Premiership and stay in the UEFA Cup. But I'm disappointed because we played very badly and we lost the fight in the middle.
"It was a good time to rest a few players but I knew Wigan would play well and they are a very good side.
"I have to be upset - I don't have a choice - but I will try to find the solution for another day."
