Top six target Hangeland

Hangeland, 31, is yet to agree terms with the club who he joined in 2008.

With rumours that Manchester United and Arsenal are both interested, as well as Liverpool, Hangeland may seek pastures new and leave the London club as early as this January. With his contract set to expire in the summer, Hangeland will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement this January ? or Fulham may accept a reasonable bid for their captain.

At just the age of 31 and with 4 years of Barlcays Premier League experience ? Hangeland will be seen as a cost effective purchase for any side looking to bolster their defence for the coming seasons.

Manchester United have been linked with the Nowegian due to the similarities he possesses to Nemanja Vidic. Both players are dominant in the air and tackle, and would work well to each other. With injuries to Smalling and Jones and the aging Ferdinand, Hangeland may be seen as a reasonable addition to United squad.

Arsenal have also been linked with the giant Norwegian, who would bolster any defence to the sheer size. However with the emergence of Per Mertersacker and the introduction of Steve Bould to the Arsenal set up ? another giant may not be needed in the Arsenal defence.

The majority of clubs linked with Hangeland will be able to pay his relatively low wage, which Fulham have offered to double in recent times.

A low salary and transfer free along with four years experience in the Premier League. Hangeland may be on his way to a bigger club come January.
