Top star going nowhere

Celtic are ruling out the possibility of selling Stilian Petrov to Fulham or Everton.

The Bulgarian midfielder only has 18 months left on his contract, yet his boss Gordon Strachan is not prepared to sell in January.

Strachan explained his stance to the Daily Record: ''I have never met a happier bunny in my life than Stan.

''I think now that the pressure is off and all the talk of will he, won't he, will stop, it should make things better.

''We feel it is more beneficial for Stilian to stay for 18 months. People might say it would be worth selling him in a couple of months but it is not.''
