Bobby Zamora has been handed an England call-up ahead of the friendly against Hungary on 11th August.

Fabio Capello is preparing his team for the UEFA European Championship 2012 qualification campaign and has included the Fulham striker in his 23-man squad.

Zamora enjoyed the best season of his career last term which saw his goals not only help Fulham secure a comfortable mid-table finish in the Premier League but to also reach the UEFA Europa League final.

Earlier this week, Mark Hughes stated he wanted to help Zamora get into the England team and get him the international recognition he deserved. Zamora was considered for England before the World Cup and was close to making it to South Africa before an injury crushed his chances.

Hughes said of the news, 'We’re delighted for Bobby'.
