Thierry Henry scored twice as Arsenal warmed up for Real Madrid with a thumping 4-0 victory over a Fulham side who never even got into the game.

Henry scored a stunning opener to set the tone for the match, Emmanuel Adebayor grabbed the second before Henry sealed victory and Cesc Fabregas put the icing on the cake.

It was the perfect way for the Gunners to prepare for Wednesday's Champions League clash against Real, but for woeful Fullham it was a disaster.

Chris Coleman's men were hoping to continue their fine home form and went for a bold selection policy with Heidar Helguson and Brian McBride up front and the likes of Luis Boa Morte, Steed Malbranque and Tomasz Radzinski all backing the strikers up.

But Arsenal, who left Fabregas, Jose Antonio Reyes and Dennis Bergkamp on the bench, strolled to a 2-0 lead in the first half without breaking sweat and without Fulham managing a single shot on target.

The home side had started brightly enough, fizzing into tackles and putting their London rivals under pressure.

But they were never able to create a meaningful chance and instead Arsenal, glad of the space they were allowed in midfield, began to take control.

Adebayor was only denied by a last-gasp tackle from Zat Knight and Henry could have opened the scoring as early as the 14th minute but his first touch as he moved on to a fine Freddie Ljungberg ball was heavy and the chance was lost.

But the Arsenal talisman made amends after 31 minutes with a truly stunning opener.

He moved on to an Abou Diaby pass to the left on the area, jinked past a statuesque Moritz Volz and thumped home a left-footed shot that gave keeper Tony Warner no chance.

Once Arsenal were ahead they smelled blood and it was 2-0 after 35 minutes following a fine sweeping move.

Diaby nodded a header into the path of Ljungberg whose perfect pass found Adebayor in yards of space and the young African star calmly stroked the ball home.

The same player almost made it 3-0, driving just wide of the post seconds later, and Fulham visibly wilted as the visitors grew in stature.

The frustration was so bad for Fulham that defenders Knight and Volz squared up as they left the field at the end of the first half and had to be pulled apart by Henry.

The second half wasn't much better either because Fulham should have gone three down when Adebayor missed a sitter after being unselfishly set up by Henry again.

Malbranque had Fulham's first shot on target after 71 minutes but keeper Warner had to save well from Diaby and Ljungberg before Henry strolled on to a Ljungberg pass and guided home Arsenal's third on 77 minutes.

Fulham's misery was completed four minutes from time when substitute Fabregas fired home after a fine cut-back from Mathieu Flamini.
