Fulham & Crystal Palace investigate Aleksandar Mitrovic & Luka Milivojevic over COVID-19 rule breach

Premier League clubs Fulham and Crystal Palace have launched an investigation into reports that duo Aleksandar Mitrovic and Luka Milivojevic broke COVID-19 rules at a New Year's Day party.

Government rules state that anyone in a Tier 4 area, which includes London, 'must not meet socially indoors with family or friends unless they are part of your household or support bubble.'

And The Mail reports that both the Whites and the Eagles are investigating Mitrovic and Milivojevic's actions over the festive period, after they were pictured flouting the rules together.

Mitrovic's partner Kristina Janjic published a video on Instagram of the two stars dancing together at a New Year's Day party in London with at least seven other people, along with the caption, 'Happy New Year 2021'.

The duo were also filmed playing football with another man and two children. Janjic has since deleted her Instagram account.

Fulham have seen their last two fixtures called off following an outbreak of coronavirus cases at the club, missing the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, before Sunday's relegation battle with Burnley suffered the same fate.

The club released a statement after the postponement was announced, confirming that the players and staff who tested positive 'are self-isolating in line with UK Government and Premier League guidance.'

"Following further new positive results returned from the most recent Covid-19 tests, the Club can confirm that this Sunday’s away fixture at Burnley has been postponed after discussions with the Premier League and advice from medical teams.

"Those who tested positive are self-isolating in line with UK Government and Premier League guidance.

"The welfare of our players, staff and their families continue to be of paramount importance, and we wish those who have tested positive a safe and speedy recovery."

These are not the only cases of footballers breaking the lockdown rules over the Christmas period, however. Spurs trio Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguiilon and Erik Lamela also flouted the laws, along with West Ham star Manuel Lanzini.
