Manchester United, Everton & Newcastle Scouts Monitoring Strømsgodset's Johan Hove as Clubs Target N

Exclusive - A host of English clubs are keeping tabs on young Norwegian midfielder Johan Hove, as scouts step up their networking in the Scandinavian country in an attempt to capitalise on the recent wave of talent to emerge there.

The likes of Erling Haaland, Martin Ødegaard and Sander Berge have all made the headlines in recent months, and many have tipped Norway for a bright future on the international stage because of their young core.

Manchester United, Everton, Southampton, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Fulham and West Bromwich Albion have all sent scouts to track 19-year-old Strømsgodset midfielder Hove this season, and many have agreed that he could be the next starlet to earn a big move abroad.

There are plenty of other youngsters catching the eye around Europe, such as Celtic's Kristoffer Ajer and AZ Alkmaar's Håkon Evjen, and a source has confirmed to 90min that many Premier League scouts have taken notice of the high level of talent coming out of Norway recently.

At the minute, there are just four Norwegians playing in England's top tier - Berge, Joshua King,
Ørjan Nyland and Alexander Tettey - but that number could increase over the next 12 months, with Hove playing his way on to the radar of several sides.

The teenager, who has previously been compared to Real Madrid starlet Ødegaard, has long been tipped for a bright future, with former coach Bjørn Petter Ingebretsen telling Norwegian outlet Nettavisen last year that the midfielder has the potential to follow in Ødegaard's footsteps.

"He is a huge talent and the greatest talent we have at the club now," Ingebretsen said. "And we've had some of them before.

"He can now go as far as the other talents we've had here, to put it that way."

Hove, who remains under contract at the club until January 2022, has already made 30 senior appearances for Strømsgodset since making his breakthrough towards the end of last season, and he is also now a regular for Norway's Under-21 side.
